Rain, rain go away – you’re scaring Adelaidians away. It’s during the winter time most of us are hibernating indoors, wishing for a summery overseas holiday to escape the cold, wet weather. But it’s time for that habit to end.

Kick start your winter season at Sea & Vines over the June long weekend. This is the place to see and be seen this season. At the festival, keep warm with a glass (or a few) of red, wander through McLaren Vale’s stunning vineyards and enjoy the very social outing as you mingle with different people.

For something a little closer to home, head into the CBD and try Lady Burra’s new chocolate stout. Enjoying this unique and hearty craft brew is a great way to warm up your insides. Boasting chocolate, coffee and caramel flavours, this medium to full-bodied beer is not bitter, making it easy for everyone to drink. Lady Burra is within walking distance to Adelaide Oval so it’s the perfect way to start your night before heading to the footy.

On the topic of beer, what’s a better way to keep warm than indulging at the Adelaide Beer and BBQ Festival. Local, national and international beers and ciders will be showcased with over 50 exhibitors pouring and cooking up a storm at the Adelaide Showgrounds.  The scent of grilled meats will hit you as you reach the Brick Cattle Pavilion door, making your mouth water and belly ready for a big feast.

For music lovers, the Umbrella Winter City Sounds festival will be spread across the city from July 12-28. The well-known international, interstate and local live musicians will cover a wide range of genres, from classical to hip-hop; jazz to rock, so there is something for everyone to enjoy.

In the heart of winter, experience the warmth of the Adelaide Hills for the Winter Reds Weekend. Over July 26-28, you can celebrate day and night as the region’s wineries play host to 50 events with open fires, red wines and magical countryside flare.
